Blasphemy
By, Kaushik Paul
The sun had set long back.
The moon had concealed her face.
I staggered the thorny track,
Leaving crimson footsteps.
The sky was overcast, horizon bleak.
My companions have abandoned me.
With no one to share with or speak,
I treaded my way, tired and lonely.
My burden is too heavy,
My journey, too long.
My soul is sleepy,
My will, no more strong.
And then it came...
In such an hour of darkness,
As divine as a white dove.
From the high heavens,
Like a harbinger of love.
A beam of light came down,
Upon me from the sky.
And...
It hurt my eyes.
